New Artwork for Picnic in Scandinavia

A new poster for Picnic at Hanging Rock has been designed by Swedish artist Daniella Sjostrand for NonStop Timeless who are releasing Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Cars that Ate Paris and The Plumber in Scandinavia

I was interested in the theme of Time, which I felt was central and was referred to in several ways. The clock stops at 12 for several characters, there are many clocks and even the sound is a ticking clock. There is even this line when a girl is described as she has an hourglass figure. I thought it was fun and exciting to incorporate details from the film almost so that the viewer understands the poster only after seeing the film. Another theme that I always like to work with is nature. It can be both beautiful and unforgiving. The description of the red cloud was also something that captured my interest and I wanted to represent that on the poster, also as something representing what is unnatural in opposition to the nature that is represented by insects, mammals, birds, plants and beautiful environments.
